Utility Flares
UTILITY FLARES
Smokeless and Non-Smokeless Low Pressure Utility Flares are designed for:
- Long term operations
- Minimum operating cost
- Minimum maintenance
Long Term Operation is accomplished by:
- Solid Conical Windshield. Since low flare flow rates can cause flame lick, NAO developed our Conical Windshield 1970’s. Our Fluidic Flare Burners have been outfitted with a Conical Windshield and provide our clients extended flare life, due to its protection of the flare shell, flare pilots and steam assembly.
- Top located multi-baffled Fluidic Seal design. Flares are normally operating at low flow rates causing problems with flame lick and internal combustion. NAO’s multi-baffle fluidic seal design prevents air inside the flare burner, with minimal purge flow. Without air, combustion is not possible.
- Vortex swirl vanes and flame retainers. Flame stability at higher exit velocities is determined by properly designed flame retainers.
NAO’s Vortex swirl vanes provide flame stability, as well as turbulence/swirl to the relief stream, for improved flame stability at velocities up to 0.8 Mach.
With over 100 years of experience NAO has earned a worldwide reputation for reliability and trouble-free performance.
